Forged iron passage doorknob
Usually Ships in 2 to 3 Days
This is a fully functional one of a kind forged steel indoor passage set made by hand. The mounting plate was forged from 2 1/2" x 3/16" flat bar. The knobs were forged from 3" and 3 1/2" dia. x 1/8" discs.
The mounting plates are mirror images of each other. The knobs are different both in size and decoration.
I would not suggest mounting this set on a hollow core door. It does not mount in the way that mass produced door handles do. It needs to be bolted to the door using the decorative screws shown in the picture.
This is a heavy piece of functional hardware and is a statement piece. If you are interested in this type of hardware and want custom door hardware, please send me a message. If you need more information, I am happy to answer any questions.

I really enjoy making hardware and I also like playing with scale. There is no real reason all hardware should be the same size and shape. I make these spec pieces from scrap. That generally dictates the size and shape. I can make pieces that match but that's not really what I am doing here. I think true hand made work should look and feel hand made. It shouldn't feel puny and cheep. This door set feels hand made.
